Lantern Crest does not publish prices on its website.[1][2][3] The only dated prices found from a reputable source are from 2021, so this page explains what is included and how care is priced rather than giving current rates.

Does Lantern Crest publish prices?

No. The floor-plan pages say “All pricing and terms are subject to change without notice” and ask readers to contact a Lantern Crest representative for details.[1][3]

What does the monthly rent include?

For assisted living, the community lists rent as including three meals and snacks, “the Lantern Crest Utilities Package”, weekly housekeeping, linen and personal laundry service, a kitchenette with microwave and full-size refrigerator, activities and outings, scheduled transportation and 24-hour emergency response.[1] The memory care list is the same without the kitchenette and adds a secured environment.[2] The Villas include the community’s resort amenity package.[4]

How are care costs set?

In assisted living and memory care, each resident’s needs are scored on a point system that is used with the monthly apartment rate; needs are reassessed periodically.[5][6] In 2021, the company’s vice president of operations described this as a personalized care plan in which residents pay only for the services they receive.[7]

What prices have been reported?

In November 2021, the San Diego Business Journal reported that monthly rents started at $4,000 for independent living apartments and $4,600 for assisted living apartments, with additional fees depending on the services required.[7] These figures are five years old and may not reflect current prices.

Online senior living directories publish their own price estimates for Lantern Crest. They are not reproduced here because they could not be verified against the community or a primary source.

What is not known?

  • Current monthly rates for any apartment type or care level.
  • Entrance fees or deposits, if any.
  • Whether Medi-Cal (including the Assisted Living Waiver), long-term care insurance or veterans’ benefits are accepted.

Ask the community for a written price list and care-level assessment before deciding.
